I garden for sanity. My husband and I are in our third year living in a fixer-upper home where I started out bright eyed and bushy tailed for the renovations to come, but have graduated to going numb when I pass by our in-home workshop that seems to be a permanent fixture every year.
But then my edible garden came to the rescue. I started out with just a few plants here and here, but quickly became an addict in one summer. Seeing the seeds grow into huge vegetables, the smell of everything after I water, and of course the harvest are just a few of my favorite things. Someday I'll build better beds and start a rain barrel, but for now I'm happy with what I've got.
I grow everything in the east and south of our house, because that's where we get the most sun. My first summer, I thought that my space was on the smaller side, but here's a list of what I'm growing, which shows I'm crazy for ever thinking that.

- 3 Sungold tomato plants
- 1 100 Hybrid tomato plant
- 2 Anaheim pepper plants
